What's Up Kuching.

Sunset view of Kuching, Sarawak

Last entry I've been talking about Damai and Santubong, so for this entry I decided to talk about Kuching. Place where my heart belong. Reason why I say Kuching as the place where my heart belong is because I was born here and raise here untill I graduating from my school. Here a short video about my beloved city. Enjoying. Dont worry I will elaborate more about Kuching after this haha.

Kuhing a well known city for it divrsity and it cleanliness. Here the water transportation still available. The Kuchingnites call its as "perahu tambang". For the local they use this transportation everyday to cross the Sarawak river from the Kampung Sungai Bedil or  Kampung Boyan to the other side which is the main city of Kuching. For visitor who plan to buy the homemade original "kek lapis" by the villagers across the river, you can just use this water transportation with the fee only 50cents per head. While croosing the river you can enjoy the beautiful panorama of Kuching. For those who is interested to enjoy the night view of both the main city and and the "kampung'' you can also use this transportation with RM 1.00 per head. Well it worth your money as you stand a chance to ride the traditional boat or also known as "perahu tambang". Here some photos about the traditional boat.
This is one of the pretty view that the visitor will see. Proudly saying behind was our "Dewan Undangan Negeri" where all the Sarawak ministers have their meeting here.

While croosing the Serawak river you will lots of interesting and historical building from both side of the river.  From the "kampung" side you will see the old traditional houses,shop-house selling the "kek lapis" and "Ikan terubuk masin" or also known as salty fish, food court and famous restaurants the Barok Bistro and Permaidani Kampung. Beside you will also see our "Yang Di-Pertua Negeri" house which is known as ASTANA, the famous Fort Megharita and the new "Dewan Undangan Negeri". Meanwhile, on the other side of the river you will see lots of hotels, waterfront and few shopping malls.
This is the area of Kampung Boyan. Place which is famous with "Kek Lapis" and  "Ikan Terubuk Masin"

Rajah Brooke was used to live at this house. Now the house is for "Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak"
The famous Fort Margherita.
Night view of waterfront Kuching. There are lots of people having their night walk here enjoying the beautiful scenery and some even might drop by at mini stalls that selling the Sarawak crafts, T-shirt and etc.

One of the Pengkalan available around here

There also another option offer to all visitor who plan to cruise throughout ther Sarawak River using river taxi or Sarawak Cruise. These water transportation service will bring you from one end to another end of Sarawak River. You can see lots of interesting thing throughout the journey.
Crusing the Sarawak river is fun. Not only you enjoy the beautiful scenery but also you will be serve with the heart warming welcome with their traditional dance and nice food on cruise.
